Roles and permissions for dental staff,
so everyone sees their own work
Every staff member with their own login and role: reception books and takes payments without opening the dental chart or the medical history, the accountant sees the accounts and the financial reports — and you decide who sees what.
Roles and permissions are on every plan (Free: two staff accounts). Attendance is in Pro.
Synora's staff permissions give each person in the clinic their own login and one of 8 ready-made roles, such as receptionist, accountant or dentist, or a custom role you build, so everyone sees only what their job needs. Roles and permissions are on every plan, with two staff accounts on Free; attendance is in Pro.

When everyone signs in as the dentist, nobody is responsible for the drawer. Who cancelled that invoice? Who opened that patient's file? Without separate accounts, there is no answer.
What do Synora's staff permissions cover?
8 ready-made roles
Owner, branch manager, dentist, assistant, receptionist, accountant, inventory manager and a read-only auditor — each with the permissions of its job.
Roles of your own
Create a new role, starting from a copy of a ready-made one if you like, and tick the permissions it grants. Nobody can grant a permission they don't hold themselves.
Invitations by email
Invite a staff member by email, with their role and the branches they work in. Disable an account and they can no longer sign in, while their record and history are kept.
Reception, with measured access
The ready-made receptionist role books appointments, takes payments, wallet top-ups and installments, and sends messages. It does not see the dental chart or the medical history, and cannot void invoices, refund or close the cash register. It does see the dashboard, which includes revenue.
Two-step sign-in
Anyone can add a code from an authenticator app on their phone to their sign-in, with recovery codes in case the phone is lost. Optional, for each person.
A record of who opened the file
Every time a patient's chart, medical history or images are opened, it is written to the audit log with the account that opened them, and the owner sees these entries, with their time, in the patient's file history.
Attendance (Pro)
Staff check in and out from Synora in the browser, and lateness shows. A manager can correct a record, and the reason is kept with it; a summary covers any period.
What doesn't it do yet?
- No payroll: salaries and deductions stay outside Synora.
- No fingerprint or face devices: attendance is from the browser.
- Two-step sign-in is optional for each person; the clinic can't require it for everyone yet.

Questions about this feature
Two, and the owner's account is one of them. Pro has no limit on staff accounts. Every dentist who has appointments needs an account of their own.
Yes. Create a custom role, starting from a copy of a ready-made one if you like, and tick the permissions it grants. You cannot grant a permission you don't hold yourself.
The ready-made receptionist role sees the dashboard, which shows revenue and expenses, but not the financial reports. To hide the dashboard as well, give reception a custom role without it.
No. Staff check in and out from Synora in the browser. Attendance is part of Pro.
